Ba Be Lake

Ba Be itself is actually three smaller lakes joined together – Pe Lam, Pe Lu and Pe Leng. The climate is cool with an average temperature of 22°C. The best time to visit the area is during the dry season, which is during winter and spring. Ba Be Lakes lie in the middle of a vast limestone mountain range of Ba Be District, in Bac Kan Province, 200km north-west of Ha Noi – dubbed a "precious jade of Viet Nam" and one of 500 lakes recognised as worthy of attention.

Bach Ma National Park

Bach Ma National Park - Vietnam is located in central Vietnam (less than an hour drive from Hue city) and around 680 km from the countrys capital Hanoi. The national park covers an area of 22,031 ha and was created in 1991 to protect the centre of the last corridor of forest stretching from the South China Sea to the border with Lao PDR.

Lai Chau

It once was a province of the Lan Xang kingdom, then switched ownership to Vietnam during the French Colonial period. It became part of the Northwest Autonomous Area of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam from 1955 to 1975, when Lai Châu province is formed. Điện Biên province is carved out of Lai Châu in 2004.
